Yep, there is “good” and “bad” in all things…
Pros
Clearly, some of the good is that, you are around those like yourself. So, assuming that they play nice, if you have a question about a project, there may be someone there to help you figure it out.
Cons
Because they are all in the same industry, they may be afraid you’ll steal their idea(s) or maybe they will actually, steal yours.
You have a client with an issue, maybe someone can help you through it.
Someone may literally steal your client.
Chances are it will have all the tools you’ll need to do what you need to get your work done.
As an example, if you need specific engineering equipment/software, a space specifically for engineering will most likely have such equipment/software.
An industry specific space may cost more than a general coworking space because of the added special needs.
Now, you may need to do the math as to whether using a generic space and buying the special gear out of pocket would be a better deal. Sometimes it can be.
If you’re in a growing industry, you may have many choices of spaces.
There may literally be no space left because everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and you may need to use a general coworking space.
There are a lot of industries covered in many spaces.
Based on your industry, it may be hard to find a space for your industry. For example, it may be very hard (impossible?) to find a space for microbiology.
