What is a Gym Membership Syndrome?
We all know someone, maybe even yourself, who has joined a gym only to never use it and then have a hell of a time getting your money back. That’s a Gym Membership Syndrome.

Many people over estimate their needs
In a gym, it’s easy to see all the flashy equipment and trainers, along with all the “healthy & muscular” people and sign up right there.
The issue is that you never use half of the equipment there, none or very few of the extra amenities and because of that you stop going.
The same can happen in a coworking space. The space is beautiful, lots of cool “technical” stuff around, a pool. child care and so on, so you sign up and end up using a fraction of what they offer and paying for more than you need.

Make Use of it
You sign up for a gym and then go once every few weeks. Well in reality, as you find out, this does not benefit you at all.
The same with a coworking space. If you sign up for a monthly, use it as often as you can to get your moneys worth. If you really do not need to be there every day, maybe a few days a week it is quiet at home, make use of the drop in service at some coworking spaces.

Don’t get locked in the “Pay or we’ll attach your bank account”
You try to cancel a gym membership and then you find out that not only do you have to call another office, that is NOT your gym, but that you owe the balance and if you refuse yo pay, they will just take it from your bank account.
Now, I have never heard of this happening with a coworking space, but you never know what the future holds. So make sure that you can pay day by day or week to week or month to month and that if you decide to stop using their space, that there are no extra fees.
