What do you need?
When deciding what coworking environment to join, there are several things to consider including what kind of “extras’ you may need.
Most Coworking spaces have a minimum of amenities
Usually a coworking space will have wifi (generally free) coffee (usually free) snacks (paid or free) and a few desks which are what you are paying for as the rest are all “extras”.
Private Spaces
Private space is not a guarantee at all coworking spaces and even if they have them, they may be free and communal or they may be fee/paid spots.
A free/communal space may be a first come, first serve type of arrangement. Whereas, a fee based or paid spot will be private, but you may need to pay either monthly or as needed.
Gym/Workout Area
As more and more people of all ages are becoming more health conscious, gyms or workout areas are a great amenity.
Since you may get a bit sweaty during a workout, a great option with a gym/workout area is a shower.
Child Care
If you have young children, a built in daycare or at least a special deal with a local daycare center may be a great amenity for you.
Education
Having a built in learning program is a huge edge. Especially if many of the classes are business based and/or at least beneficial to your needs.
As an example, let us say you have an utter terror of spreadsheets, you can take an Intro To Spreadsheets class or maybe you want to start investing? There are classes like, an Intro to Investing.
Media
Check out their ability to help you get the word out on platforms like YouTube, the world of podcasting or maybe you need photos of your product.
If you have a need for these projects, then find a coworking space that offers them.
Parking
Don’t forget about parking. Some places may have their own parking lot, but many in the ABE area have either on street parking (which may or may not be metered or far away) or you may need to park in a public garage and pay.
