We hear the question about, “What should I bring?” quite regularly. So here are some tips.
A checklist for you to follow.
You can download the checklist in PDF format at the end of the post. We left room for you to add your own needs.
- Any work materials you would normally need at an office
- Laptop
- Notebook
- Pen/Pencil
- Headphones – in case you want to listen to music/podcasts/etc.
- Chair back support – if needed
- Paperwork for client meetings
- Briefcase/Attache
- Digital audio recorder – if this is your note taking preference
- Your phone – kind of a no brainer
- Chargers – laptop, phone, etc.
- Business cards
- Flash drives
- Books/Reference material that you may need
- Any material that may not be supplied by the space – as an example, if you are a photographer, bring your camera and other gear.
- Non work related items
- Lunch – While most spaces may have some snacks or even a kitchen, you may not like the options
- Credit/Debit cards – in case you want to go out for lunch or there are ala carte items at your space
- Sweater – Even in the summer, they may keep the space very cool
- Your own snacks & drinks – you may not like what they offer
